Rafael Prado

Project Assistant

Rafael Prado is the newest Project Assistant for Information Integrity on the Democracy and Technology team. He has prior experience in public and cultural diplomacy working in Iraq with the Muslim Peacemaker Team’s American-Iraqi Reconciliation Project, where he facilitated communication and relationships between Iraqi government officials, academic experts, and local community members, with Americans based in Pennsylvania and Minnesota. He also has experience in education, receiving a degree in education policy from Pennsylvania State University; as a K-12 Policy Intern with a Philadelphia youth advocacy organization, pushing statewide campaigns and regional policy changes; and, as a Street Law and Spanish bilingual teacher at both the primary and secondary level in D.C. and Pennsylvania. He is a current Security Policy Studies student at George Washington University where he concentrates on transnational security in Sub-Saharan Africa. Rafael envisions his time with NDI to be truly impactful to his interests in technology’s ability to destabilize and promote democratic institutions, the use of psychological warfare and simply creating a healthier and more equitable lifestyle for our neighbors at home and abroad.
