Hello World!

My name is Morgan and I’m the new project assistant on the NDItech team. I am also currently a graduate student at The Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University with a focus on international development and conflict resolution. As a  world traveler, I have noticed clear gaps in international development outreach in many regions, especially the lack of access to modern technologies. I know that technology can play an extremely pivotal role in democratic development if implemented correctly. This understanding is what led me to the NDItech team.

Before coming to NDI, I taught English in Thailand for a year. I witnessed the destruction and aftermath of the great Nepalese earthquake in 2015, and worked with local victims, communities and NGO’s on search and rescue activities and aid distribution. Prior to my experience in Nepal, I interned at a company called RainTees, which is deeply rooted in helping developing countries in Latin America gain access to school supplies and prevent environmental degradation. Following this internship, I became a sustainability representative for the Amazon Center for Environmental Education and Research (ACEER) Foundation in Peru. While there, I worked with government officials to help strengthen local communities in the Amazon.

All of these experiences have led me to the realization that sustainable efforts in the developing world are not possible without the use of technology. During my time at NDI, I look forward to using my experience and knowledge of data analysis and technology capacity to implement a more robust and sustainable approach to political activism, social mobility, and democratic progress.

So without further delay, let’s begin!
