Amara Shaker-Brown is a Program Officer for NDI’s Democracy and Technology team. She worked with NDI’s Gender, Women, and Democracy office before joining the DemTech team. She is committed to forwarding inclusivity, safety, data privacy and representation in technological spaces and systems with a focus on their impact on society. Prior to joining NDI, Amara worked at several mid-size tech start-ups as well as established research organizations, scaling program design, operationalizing implementations, and leading DEIB representation initiatives across various teams. She holds an M.A. in International Studies and Diplomacy from SOAS, University of London, and a B.A. in Drama from the University of Virginia.
